Vacant or Abandoned Properties

An abandoned property is a telltale sign of neighborhood distress.  It signals to outsiders that property in your neighborhood may be close to worthless, that things are so bad it doesn't even matter if we abandon the place. Don't let this situation continue.

The City adopted an ordinance in 2016 requiring owners to register vacant properties, secure them from unauthorized entry and ensure that the exterior grounds are well maintained and free from debris and litter.

Code Enforcement

City ordinances are a clear path toward making property owners accountable for maintaining their buildings (both the main building and any garages, storage sheds, and such).

Department of Public Works

Our Public Works department does a great job at keeping our district clean and beautiful, but they can't be every where. Get involved by reporting issues like deficient lighting, potholes or deteriorated sidewalks to keep everyone safe. Report dead or dying trees to keep the district looking its best.
